Identity Foreclosure

In terms of psychology, the word foreclosure may be used in reference to a concept known as identity foreclosure, which is an aspect of a person's identity that has been chose beforehand, according to societal expectations. For purposes of mortgage, however, the word foreclosure takes on a much different and even more significant meaning - the repossession of a home due to nonpayment of a mortgage. In a foreclosure, the homeowner's lack of payments have become substantial enough to warrant a notice of default. This document, which is issued any point after 30 days of missed payments, indicates that, because of missed payments, one of three types of foreclosure will soon begin. The most common type of foreclosure, by judicial sale, means that the house will be sold under court supervision. The other common type, by power of sale, will simply consist of a sale of the property by the lender, without assistance of the court. In some states, another type of foreclosure, such as strict foreclosure, can also be an option.
