A loan modification company didn’t live up to their promise and upon following their advice, our house became foreclosed. Are there any legal recourse options I have in taking action against the unethical loan modification company?

Opportunistic and unethical companies that take advantage of struggling homeowners is a fairly new threat. They often refer to themselves as a “foreclosure consultant” or “mortgage consultant,” and market themselves as a "foreclosure service", "foreclosure rescue agency" or "loan modification company." Many of these companies are aware that homeowners may be vulnerable and may be desperate for a quick solution to their problems.
These companies claim they can assist homeowners facing foreclosure with options that allow them to keep their property, refinance or modify an existing mortgage, repair credit or help “buy more time.” However, this is not always the case and some only want your money or possibly your home.
If you think that you may of been a victim of an unethical loan modification, please contact a Foreclosure attorney immediately. Information about unethical loan modification is also available from government agencies, such as the FDIC.
